Science Links Japan – How Do We Deal With the “Virtual” World?
However, since this virtual world is invisible, confusion can easily arise when compared to the real world. Harassment and crime occur and people often get deceived. The virtual world has many problems: It can be ecumenical and momentary. The volume of information it handles is beyond human control. And it is the kind of invisible world that lacks the mutual confidence that is barely maintainable even in the real face-to-face world.

Therefore, similar to how the law serves to maintain a certain kind of order in the real world, the virtual world also requires a law system that encompasses civil law and criminal law on a global level (Cyber Space Law) in order that a disciplined, safe, and active world can then be constructed.
